9449080-28376 Job Description Make a meaningful impact supporting students across elementary, middle, and high school levels as a Teacher for the Visually Impaired. This full-time contract position runs from August 10, 2026, to May 27, 2027, with a standard Monday through Friday schedule and a manageable 37.5-hour workweek. You'll have the unique opportunity to provide essential services, ensuring access to education and promoting independence for learners who are visually impaired.
Desired Qualifications:
State certification as a Teacher for the Visually Impaired (VI Teacher) is required Proven experience working with visually impaired students across various grade levels is preferred Familiarity with educational best practices and instructional methods for the visually impaired Ability to adapt and implement individualized instruction based on student needs and district guidelines Strong communication and collaboration skills to effectively work with students, staff, and families
Key Responsibilities:
Design and deliver specialized instruction to students with visual impairments in elementary, middle, and high school Conduct ongoing assessments of student progress using both formal and informal evaluation tools Collaborate with educational teams to tailor interventions and instructional goals Prepare documentation and participate in ARD (Admission, Review, and Dismissal) meetings to ensure compliance and support for students Help create a supportive classroom environment that fosters student achievement and independence This role encompasses diverse experiences throughout the school community, supporting a caseload across all grade levels.
