9674749-28777 Job Description Inspire growth and make a meaningful impact by supporting students as a Special Education Teacher in a dynamic school setting near Spruce Pine, NC. This contract opportunity runs full-time, Monday through Friday, from now until May 28, 2027. Youll play a vital role in facilitating an inclusive, caring learning environment for elementary and middle school students.

You will support two classrooms:

one elementary (structured support, caseload of six students with toileting needs) and a co-teaching middle school classroom (caseload of eleven students, including one with a feeding tube and some toileting assistance required). Both classrooms are well-staffed with teaching assistants and behavioral support, allowing you to focus on individualized education and student development.

Desired Experience & Qualifications:

Certification in Special Education (required) Experience with elementary OR middle school populations preferred Comfort with toileting assistance and supporting students with medical needs (feeding tube training a plus) Ability to adapt strategies for a variety of learning abilities and styles Strong collaboration skills to work effectively with teaching assistants, behavior technicians, and other educators

Key Responsibilities:

Develop and implement IEPs tailored to each students strengths and needs Foster a positive classroom culture with clear expectations and supports Closely collaborate with classroom staff for daily routines, transitions, and intervention strategies Provide classroom instruction that is differentiated, engaging, and inclusive Support students with toileting as required and administer medical care (training provided as needed)
