9669761-28466 Job Description Make a difference in the lives of middle school students as a Special Education Teacher serving grades 6-8. This contract position near Wallace, NC offers an engaging opportunity to support a dedicated caseload at the middle school level. Youll work closely with a team, including Instructional Assistants, to ensure individualized student needs are met and learning potential is maximized. This role provides a consistent full-time schedule, with up to 40 hours per week including dedicated planning periods, allowing you to thoughtfully prepare lessons and collaborate with colleagues.

Qualifications:

Bachelors degree or higher in Special Education or a related field Valid state certification in Special Education (or eligibility) Experience creating and implementing IEPs for middle school students preferred Ability to collaborate with instructional assistants and multidisciplinary teams Strong communication and organizational skills Compassion, patience, and adaptability to meet diverse student needs

Key Responsibilities:

Manage a caseload of 7 students with the support of an Instructional Assistant Develop, implement, and monitor Individualized Education Plans (IEPs) Deliver differentiated instruction in both individual and small group settings Assess student progress and adjust interventions as needed Foster an inclusive and supportive classroom environment for grades 6-8 Participate in team meetings, parent conferences, and ongoing professional development This role is ideal for passionate educators who enjoy making an impact in a collaborative middle school environment.
