Adelphi is seeking a Teacher of the Visually Impaired to provide direct and consultative services to students within a shool distict in Wilmington, North Carolina. The Teacher of the Visually Impaired will assess student needs, provide specialized instruction, support IEP development, adapt educational materials, provide braille-related services, and collaborate with school personnel and families. $50 per hour Requirements

Bachelor's degree in Special Education or a related field.
Current North Carolina Professional Educator's License in Visual Impairment.
Knowledge of IEPs, accessible instruction, braille, and material adaptation.
Experience with assistive technology and low-vision devices.
Experience with Cortical Visual Impairment preferred.
Strong communication, documentation, and organizational skills.
Ability to travel between assigned schools. Responsibilities
Assess students' educational and functional visual needs.
Develop and support measurable IEP goals and objectives.
Provide direct specialized instruction to students with visual impairments.
Adapt instructional materials into accessible formats.
Provide or coordinate braille transcription and instruction.
Teach students to use assistive technology and low-vision devices.
Consult with teachers, families, and related service professionals.
Monitor student progress and maintain daily service documentation.
Attend IEP meetings, staff meetings, and parent conferences.
Travel between assigned schools and comply with District requirements.
Perform other duties as assigned.
