e2112-58558 Job Description Begin an exciting full-time opportunity as a Teacher of the Visually Impaired, working 1:1 with a pediatric student in a long-term, on-site contract position. This role is ideal for candidates who are passionate about making a difference in students lives and are open to travel. You'll support the unique educational needs of a student with visual impairment, collaborating closely with school staff, families, and specialists to foster independence and academic growth.
Key Qualifications:
Bachelors Degree (B.A.) required Active state certification as a Teacher of the Visually Impaired is mandatory Experience providing direct, individualized instruction to children with visual impairments highly preferred Skilled at developing, adapting, and implementing educational materials in both standard and alternative formats (Braille, large print, audio, assistive technology) Strong communication, organizational, and problem-solving abilities Flexibility to work on-site and adapt to evolving student needs
Primary Responsibilities:
Deliver individualized instruction and support to a K-12 student in alignment with the students Individualized Education Program (IEP) goals Create and maintain accessible learning environments using adaptive strategies and technologies Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams, including general and special education teachers, therapists, and family members Provide assessment, progress monitoring, and regular reports to inform educational decisions Offer expert guidance on accommodations, modifications, and orientation/mobility needs
