This rewarding contract opportunity focuses on serving early childhood students (birth to 5 years old) in an onsite role. Youll play a crucial part in supporting the communication, language, and educational needs of students who are deaf or hard of hearing, collaborating with educators, families, and support staff to create an inclusive learning environment.
Desired Qualifications:
Valid certification as a Teacher of the Deaf/Hard of Hearing, or in process of obtaining Experience working with early childhood populations, ideally ages 0-5 Strong understanding of language development in children with hearing differences Knowledge of various communication methods, including ASL and spoken language approaches Ability to develop and implement Individualized Education Plans (IEPs) Excellent collaboration and communication skills with families, staff, and related service providers Flexible, adaptable, and compassionate approach in diverse learning environments
Key Responsibilities:
Provide direct instruction and support for children with hearing loss in early childhood classrooms Assess students needs and progress, adapting educational strategies accordingly Consult with classroom teachers and families to ensure appropriate accommodations and language access Participate actively in multidisciplinary teams and IEP meetings Maintain accurate and timely documentation Guide classroom staff in fostering an inclusive classroom environment Promote early language acquisition through a variety of evidence-based strategies This opportunity welcomes both full-time and part-time candidates.
