Category Schools - Special Education Teacher Job Type Contract Step into a rewarding educational environment supporting 5th and 6th grade students as a special education teacher and case manager for a Life Skills/Intensive Needs program. This full-time contract opportunity extends from ASAP through June 2027, allowing you to make a lasting difference in the lives of a small group of students with diverse needs. You'll provide tailored instruction and individual support, collaborating closely with students, staff, and families.

Qualifications & Experience:

Valid Special Education Teacher certification (or eligibility) Experience working with elementary or middle school students in special education settings, preferably with life skills or intensive needs populations Strong commitment to inclusive education and differentiated instruction Proficiency in developing and managing Individualized Education Programs (IEPs) Excellent communication, collaboration, and organizational skills Ability to adapt to quickly evolving student needs and instructional requirements

Responsibilities:

Deliver individualized and small group instruction to 5th/6th grade students in a Life Skills/Intensive Needs program Manage a caseload of three students with varying exceptionalities, focusing on academic, functional, and social-emotional growth Develop, implement, and monitor IEPs in partnership with other professionals and parents/guardians Collect data, track student progress, and adjust teaching approaches accordingly Foster an inclusive, supportive, and structured classroom environment Serve as a primary point of contact and advocate for student needs, coordinating effectively with related service providers This is a full-time opportunity requiring a commitment of 35-37.5 hours per week, Monday through Friday.
