Job Description

Make an immediate impact in students' lives as a dedicated Special Education Teacher supporting 5th and 6th graders in a life skills/intensive needs program. This rewarding contract opportunity offers full-time hours through the end of the 2026-2027 school year. Work closely with a small, focused group—just three students this year—to provide individualized instruction and promote growth in both academic and daily living skills. Desired Background and Experience:
Valid Special Education Teaching certification Experience with intensive needs populations or life skills curricula strongly preferred Familiarity with developing and implementing Individualized Education Plans (IEPs) Strong organizational and case management skills Effective communication skills for coordinating with families, related service providers, and support staff Capable of adapting instruction to varied learning levels and abilities Empathetic and patient approach to supporting students' unique needs
Key Responsibilities:
Provide direct instruction to a caseload of 5th and 6th grade students with intensive needs. Serve as case manager, ensuring IEP goals and accommodations are implemented. Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team to foster student growth and independence. Track and report on student progress; participate in meetings with parents/guardians. Adapt and develop curriculum materials focused on life skills and practical academics. This is a full-time position, Monday through Friday, with 35-37.5 hours per week, offering a consistent schedule through June 2027.
