This full-time contract opportunity focuses on working with children aged 6-14, where your expertise and dedication will nurture growth and transform challenges into achievements. The classroom serves students with severe behavioral needs, offering a unique space to foster resilience, skill-building, and positive changes on a daily basis.
Qualifications:
- Valid Special Education certification required
- Previous experience with students exhibiting severe behaviors strongly preferred
- Solid understanding of IEP development and behavioral intervention strategies
- Effective communication and collaboration abilities
- Ability to create and maintain a structured, supportive environment
- Compassion, patience, and creativity in developing individualized learning plans
Responsibilities:
- Provide direct instruction and implement tailored curriculum for students in a self-contained classroom
- Develop, monitor, and update Individualized Education Plans (IEPs)
- Proactively utilize evidence-based behavior management techniques
- Collaborate with paraprofessionals, related service providers, and families to support student success
- Document and report student progress; adjust interventions as needed
