Qualifications and Experience:
Current certification as a Special Education Teacher Knowledge of and experience implementing IEPs and other special education documentation Ability to adapt lessons and instructional strategies to meet the diverse needs of students Excellent communication and collaboration skills for working alongside general education staff, families, and support professionals Familiarity with evidence-based interventions and classroom management techniques Previous experience in a school setting preferred
Key Responsibilities:
Develop and oversee the implementation of individualized education plans (IEPs) for students with a range of abilities and needs Collaborate with teachers, administrators, and related service providers to ensure appropriate accommodations and modifications Use a variety of teaching methods and materials to reach students at all learning levels Monitor and document students' progress toward IEP goals, adjusting strategies as needed Provide direct instruction in academic and functional skills, social development, and behavioral support Communicate regularly with families, sharing progress and insights to foster student success Participate in IEP meetings, professional development, and school activities Enjoy the ability to shape young lives, collaborate with supportive colleagues, and develop your teaching practice in a rewarding contract role.
