Aug 31, 2026 Job Description Rivendell Academy (grades 6th-12th) seeks a caring and knowledgeable Special Education teacher to provide specially designed instruction in basic academic skills such as reading, writing, and math, as well as instruction in social, emotional, and behavioral skills. The Special Education teacher must have training and experience in writing Individualized Education Programs (IEPs), monitoring student progress, and the ability to understand and follow legal regulations to the provision of Special Education. The Special Education teacher must have a high level of patience, empathy, and positivity for working with students with any type of disability. Teacher must work collaboratively with staff, administration, and parents on behalf of students. The Special Education teacher must work effectively as a member of a team, and demonstrate strong oral and written communication skills. Organizational skills are essential.
