Category Schools - Special Education Teacher Job Type Contract Make a meaningful difference in a student's life by providing virtual special education instruction tailored to unique needs. This short-term contract position offers the opportunity to work 1:1 with a 5th grade student, delivering high-impact support while collaborating with a dedicated educational team. The district anticipates services will be needed for a few weeks—up to one month—while plans for an out-of-district placement are finalized. This timeline may adjust as needed, so adaptability is valued. You'll engage for two hours per week of direct virtual instruction, with additional indirect collaboration and planning time available. The schedule is flexible to accommodate your availability, the student's needs, and coordination with other support services.
Ideal candidates will bring:
A valid Special Education Teacher certification Previous experience providing individualized instruction, preferably in a 1:1 virtual format Skill in developing and delivering specially designed instruction Strong communication and collaboration abilities Comfort navigating online learning platforms and adapting instruction for remote engagement A commitment to fostering a positive, growth-oriented environment for students of diverse backgrounds What you'll do: Deliver high-quality special education instruction to a 5th grade student, ensuring all educational goals are addressed Collaborate with families, related service providers, and district staff for consistency and support Maintain accurate records of progress and sessions Adapt teaching methods based on student response and evolving needs Ensure all services meet required standards and district guidelines This contract role offers the flexibility to shape your schedule while you make a pivotal impact during a transition period for the student.
