Job Description

Category Schools - Counselor Job Type Contract Make an immediate impact as a contract virtual school counselor, working one-on-one with a 5th-grade male student requiring support while awaiting an out-of-district placement. This flexible, short-term opportunity (anticipated to last two weeks to one month, subject to change) offers an important chance to support a student during a pivotal transitional period. You will provide direct counseling services online for one hour each week, with potential for additional indirect service time as appropriate.
What You'll Do:
Deliver individualized virtual counseling sessions to a 5th-grade student, focusing on social, emotional, and behavioral support Collaborate remotely with parents, educators, and other service providers to address the student's evolving needs Document student progress and maintain thorough records in accordance with district policies Adjust counseling approaches as needed, ensuring a supportive, student-centered environment Participate in brief team meetings or consultations as necessary to coordinate care
Who We're Looking For:
Master's degree in Counseling, School Counseling, or a related field Current counseling certification or state licensure (school counselor preferred) Experience supporting elementary or middle school students, especially in a virtual or remote setting Strong communication skills, compassion, and adaptability Reliable internet connection and ability to conduct secure video sessions Background in providing short-term interventions or transition support a plus Perks of the
