Qualifications & Desired Experience:
Valid Special Education teaching certification for the state (or eligibility to obtain) Bachelors or Masters degree in Special Education or related field Demonstrated experience working with children who have varied learning, behavioral, or physical needs Strong communication and collaboration skills for working with students, families, and interdisciplinary teams Knowledge of IEP development and implementation Adaptable, patient, and resourceful work ethic
Duties & Responsibilities:
Develop, implement, and evaluate Individualized Education Programs (IEPs) in alignment with student goals Provide direct instruction tailored to the unique needs of each student within school settings Collaborate with general education teachers, therapists, and support staff to ensure student inclusion and achievement Monitor student progress, maintain accurate documentation, and report outcomes to key stakeholders Communicate regularly with parents/guardians to provide updates, advice, and support Foster a positive, respectful classroom atmosphere that encourages student participation and success Participate in team meetings, professional development, and school activities as required
