Professional Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree of related subject from accredited institution or related field teacher. Certified by NH Department of Education. Experience is preferred but not necessary for hiring.

  • Ability to establish and maintain cooperative and effective working relationships with others (i.e. staff, students, parents)
  • Ability to communicate effectively orally and in writing.
  • Report to work on a regular and punctual basis.
  • Perform other related tasks to accomplish the objectives of the total school program.
  • Meet professional teacher education requirements of school district and NHDOE.
  • Certification in NonViolent Crisis Intervention-CPI (verbal and/or physical) or the ability to get trained
  • Knowledge and implementation of relevant technology.
  • Utilize technology associated with critical functions of the job
  • Promote technology as a learning tool for students
Physical Requirements:
Duties performed typically in school setting include: Classrooms, gymnasium, cafeteria, auditorium and recreational areas.
  • Lift up to 20-30 pounds regularly
  • The ability to walk, sit, and stand on a regular basis
  • Occasional travel with students on field trips may be necessary
  • Occasional movement of students in wheelchairs and other mechanical devices
  • Other physical activities may be required
Responsibilities:
Duties of this job include, but are not limited to:
  • Case manager for Special Education and/or 504 students.
  • Provide direct services to Special Education students, as indicated in the IEP.
  • Use appropriate assessments to determine present levels and learning baselines.
  • Complete and print quarterly progress reports (3) for each student. One to parent, one to SAU office and one for student file.
  • Communicate effectively with related service providers to ensure proper IEP implementation and adequate progress of established goals and objectives.
  • Maintain accurate documentation of parent contact (phone calls, emails, meetings etc…)
  • Obtain signatures on all required documentation.
  • Report any special education database changes to the Special Education Administrative Assistant.
  • Manage all special education meetings unless excused by the Student Services Director
  • Respond to parent, student, teacher and admin inquiries via phone and/or email during regular work week in a timely manner (not to exceed 3 school days).
  • Prepare and provide individualized instruction to meet the needs of each learner, as indicated in the IEP.
  • Collaborate with staff to develop behavior strategies that allow students to access their education in the least restrictive environment.
  • Advocating for materials to meet the diverse needs of each learner.
  • Maintain classroom inventory of instructional materials/equipment.
  • Participates in curriculum development programs as required.
  • Participates in activities to promote a positive school environment and culture.
  • Attend monthly Special Education meetings.
