Responsibilities Develop and implement age-appropriate curricula that incorporate literacy education, math, physical education, and early childhood development principles. Create engaging lesson plans that cater to diverse learning styles and developmental needs of preschool children. Manage classroom behavior through positive reinforcement and effective behavior management strategies to maintain a safe and respectful environment. Conduct child development assessments and utilize standardized testing when appropriate to monitor progress and inform instruction. Communicate regularly with parents and guardians to share updates on their child's progress, milestones, and any concerns, fostering strong home-school partnerships. Ensure compliance with mandated reporting laws related to child welfare and safety, maintaining accurate records of incidents or concerns. Maintain a clean, organized classroom environment that promotes active learning, independence, and social interaction among children. Support children with special education needs or those requiring early intervention services by adapting activities and collaborating with specialists. Uphold all health and safety standards by maintaining first aid and CPR certifications, practicing proper childcare procedures, and responding promptly to emergencies. Collaborate with colleagues to plan school-wide activities, physical education sessions, and developmental milestones assessments. Experience Prior experience working with children in a daycare settings is essential; familiarity with toddler care is highly valued. Demonstrated expertise in curriculum development tailored for early childhood education environments. Experience managing classrooms effectively through classroom management techniques and behavior management strategies. Knowledge of childhood development stages, special education practices, early intervention programs, and child welfare policies. Proven ability to communicate clearly with parents, staff, and children in a professional manner. Experience teaching physical education or integrating movement into daily lessons is a plus. Familiarity with standardized testing procedures used in early childhood settings enhances your ability to track developmental progress effectively.
