Job Description
Teacher of the Deaf/Hard of Hearing (Itinerant Services) Summit Speech School - New Providence, NJ Full-Time Salaried or Hourly Positions Available ($70-$80/hr) Summit Speech School is a nonprofit organization dedicated to empowering children with hearing loss to become confident, effective communicators using Listening and Spoken Language (LSL) . We serve families across New Jersey through three core programs: Early Intervention , Preschool (Approved Private School for Students with Disabilities) , and Itinerant Services . Our students use a range of hearing technologies—including hearing aids, cochlear implants, and FM/DM systems—to access sound and develop spoken language. We are seeking a passionate, student-centered Teacher of the Deaf/Hard of Hearing (ToD/HH) to join our growing Itinerant Services team. Itinerant ToDs provide direct services to students in their home school districts , supporting access, communication, and academic success. Services are typically delivered in 1:1 pull-out sessions , with opportunities for in-class support and collaboration with school teams. You will be assigned students based on districts near your home , minimizing travel. Summit currently partners with 66 school districts statewide , offering a diverse and rewarding caseload. You will collaborate closely with classroom teachers, CST members, related service providers, and families to ensure each student receives consistent, high-quality support.
