Job Description

Category Schools - Special Education Teacher Job Type Contract Step into a fulfilling role designed to make a difference in the lives of students with specialized needs. This contract opportunity spans from November 2, 2026, through March 25, 2027, with a possibility of an earlier start in mid-October, depending on the circumstances of an existing leave of absence. You will facilitate learning and foster growth for a dedicated group of students in both morning and afternoon self-contained sessions. In this position, you'll guide three students in the morning session (9:00 a.m. - 11:30 a.m.) and another three students in the afternoon session (12:50 p.m. - 3:20 p.m.), providing focused, individualized support and instruction. You'll benefit from a structured schedule and a nurturing school environment committed to student achievement.
Qualifications and Experience:
Valid certification in Special Education (appropriate state licensure required) Previous experience with self-contained classroom settings strongly preferred Ability to develop and implement IEPs tailored to each student's unique needs Strong communication skills and an empathetic approach to student support Familiarity with a variety of instructional and behavioral strategies Organizational skills and adaptability to individualized pacing
