Job Description

Category Schools - Special Education Teacher Job Type Contract Step into a rewarding role supporting young learners in their educational journey as a Special Education Teacher for an Autism classroom. This contract opportunity offers you the chance to make an immediate and lasting impact on students in grades K-3. Working from 8:00 AM to 3:30 PM, you'll be guiding and inspiring children who benefit from specialized instruction and care. The position is available now and will run through the end of the school year, providing stability and the chance to integrate into a close-knit classroom environment.

Qualifications/Desired Experience:

Valid Special Education Teacher certification for K-3. Demonstrated experience working with children on the autism spectrum, preferably in an educational setting. Strong communication and collaboration skills, allowing you to partner effectively with support staff, therapists, and families. Innovative, patient, and flexible approach to meeting each student's unique learning needs.

Responsibilities:

Deliver effective, individualized instruction for students in a K-3 autism classroom, fostering academic and personal growth. Develop and implement individualized education plans (IEPs) tailored to each student's abilities and goals. Assess student progress and adapt teaching strategies for continuous improvement. Collaborate with other educators, aides, and therapists to provide a comprehensive support network. Maintain a safe, positive classroom environment conducive to learning and emotional growth. Engage regularly with parents and caregivers to report progress and provide insights.
