Category Schools - Special Education Teacher Job Type Contract Step into a rewarding contract role supporting young learners with autism in a K-3 classroom setting. As a Special Education Teacher, you will play a key part in fostering a positive, inclusive environment for students, collaborating with a dedicated team of professionals. This opportunity runs from ASAP through the end of the school year, with consistent hours from 8:00 am to 3:30 pm.
Qualifications:
Valid Special Education Teacher certification for grades K-3 Demonstrated experience working with children with autism, preferably in a school or clinical setting In-depth understanding of IEP development and implementation Strong communication and collaboration skills for working with staff, students, and families Creative, patient, and adaptable approach to meeting individual student needs
Key Responsibilities:
Provide specialized instruction to K-3 students in an autism classroom, adapting curriculum to support diverse learning styles and needs Develop, implement, and track individualized education plans (IEPs) Employ evidence-based strategies to promote positive behavior and academic growth Collaborate with classroom aides, therapists, and related service providers Maintain accurate, timely documentation on student progress and communication logs Cultivate a safe, supportive classroom where every child can reach their potential This contract position allows you to focus your skills where they matter most—helping students achieve meaningful progress both academically and socially.
