Overview We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Special Education Teacher to join our educational team. The successful candidate will play a vital role in supporting students with diverse learning needs, including those with disabilities, neurodevelopmental disorders, and developmental disabilities. Responsibilities Develop and implement individualized education programs (IEPs) tailored to each student's unique needs, aligning with legal requirements and educational standards. Design and deliver engaging lesson plans that incorporate curriculum development principles, instructional modifications, and educational technology integration. Manage classroom behavior effectively through behavioral therapy techniques and behavior management strategies for students with special needs. Collaborate closely with other professionals such as speech therapists, occupational therapists, psychologists, and parents to support student progress comprehensively. Adapt teaching methods and materials to accommodate students with autism spectrum disorders, deaf education needs, or other developmental disabilities. Conduct assessments using standardized testing tools to monitor student progress and inform instructional planning. Maintain accurate documentation of student performance, attendance, and progress reports while ensuring compliance with special education law. Engage in ongoing professional development related to childhood development, early intervention strategies, literacy education, math instruction, and inclusive teaching practices. Communicate regularly with parents or guardians regarding student achievements, challenges, and strategies for support through parent-teacher meetings. Support early childhood education initiatives by fostering a nurturing environment that promotes social-emotional growth and learning readiness. Experience Proven classroom experience working with students with disabilities or neurodevelopmental disorders in elementary or preschool settings. Demonstrated expertise in special education practices including IEP development, instructional modifications, and behavior management. Experience integrating educational technology tools into lesson planning for enhanced learning outcomes. Familiarity with behavioral health principles and behavioral therapy techniques tailored for children with developmental disabilities. Knowledge of special education law and standardized testing procedures relevant to diverse learner populations. Background in working within private schools or Montessori environments is advantageous. Strong communication skills for effective collaboration with multidisciplinary teams and families. Prior experience tutoring or mentoring children with special needs is highly desirable. Ability to adapt curriculum content for early intervention programs or preschool-aged children while supporting literacy and math foundational skills.
