An immediate opportunity is available for a dedicated Special Education Teacher, covering the full school year with a schedule from 8:00am to 4:00pm. You'll provide vital services across four local schools, ensuring your impact reaches students who need it most (caseload: 30-40 students). Your home base will be within the district, but please note that direct services are not provided at the home base location. Experience with elementary caseloads and a background in conducting evaluations are essential for success in this role.
Qualifications & Experience:
Valid New Jersey teaching certification—Special Education/Learning Disability Teacher Certification required NJ Technology Certification required Experience performing student evaluations in elementary settings Previous work supporting student learning and IEP goals in K-5 special education Flexible mindset to work in multiple locations within the district Strong communication, organization, and collaborative skills
Key Responsibilities:
Deliver special education instruction and support across several elementary school sites Manage a caseload of 30-40 students, adapting teaching approaches to ensure every learner's success Conduct comprehensive evaluations and contribute to IEP development and progress monitoring Collaborate with general educators, specialists, and student families to foster inclusive learning environments Maintain clear, detailed records in compliance with state and district mandates This contract position begins as soon as possible and continues through June 23, 2027—offering the chance to make a meaningful difference in students' lives throughout the full school year.
