9653870-87012 Job Description Step into a dynamic Special Education role making a difference for students in a contract position serving PreK-12, with a primary focus on 6th-8th graders. Youll work closely with a dedicated caseload of 12 students, providing both pull-out and push-in servicesguiding students through individualized learning journeys and ensuring comprehensive support. Your expertise will be vital in managing the special education process from initial screening to identification, crafting effective IEPs, and assisting with the placement of students with disabilities. In this role, you will help implement the Individuals with Disabilities Education Act (IDEA) in alignment with established district procedures, ensuring high standards and legal compliance.
Qualifications:
Active New Mexico teaching certificate in Special Education Previous experience in crafting and managing IEPs Strong organizational and case management skills Ability to collaborate with multidisciplinary teams, including principals and educators Knowledge of IDEA and experience with compliance in educational settings
Key Responsibilities:
Deliver both pull-out and push-in services to meet student needs Oversee the special education process, including screening, identification, and placement Develop, organize, and ensure completion of IEPs and evaluation reports Conduct thorough reviews of all IEP documentation for local, state, and federal compliance Support seamless integration of special education students into regular classes Monitor evaluation timelines and ensure data-driven student programming This contract spans from your start date through late May 2027, offering a steady, rewarding schedule37.5 hours weekly, Monday through Fridaywith a competitive pay rate of $40 per hour.
