e2112-87544 Job Description In this rewarding full-time contract opportunity, you will work directly with a student as a Teacher of the Visually Impaired, supporting their educational journey in a school setting. This is a long-term, 1:1 pediatric assignment where you will provide individualized instruction, adapting curriculum to accommodate specific visual impairments, and collaborating with a supportive multidisciplinary team. The position is on-site and welcomes travel professionals eager to make a meaningful impact.
Qualifications and Desired Experience:
Bachelors Degree (B.A.) required Current state certification as a Teacher of the Visually Impaired (TVI) required Experience working with school-aged children, particularly in a 1:1 setting Strong communication skills and ability to build rapport with students, families, and staff Professionalism and flexibility for long-term, full-time assignments Dedication to creating accessible and engaging educational experiences
Key Responsibilities:
Provide individualized instruction and support to a student with visual impairments Collaborate closely with classroom teachers, specialists, and family members to develop and implement effective learning strategies Modify classroom materials and assignments to accommodate visual needs Assess student progress and maintain detailed reports on development Serve as an advocate for your student, ensuring accessibility and fostering independence Participate in IEP meetings and help shape educational goals
