Title:
Special Education Teacher Work site: Sierra Vista Primary, 199 White Mountain Dr, Ruidoso, NM 88345
Duties:
The Special Education teacher is responsible for teaching Pre-K students with special needs. Conducting Functional Behavior Assessments and implementing Behavior Intervention plans as determined by IEP team. Developing and implementing IEP for students in program. Conduct IEP meetings. Ensuring students successful integration in the general education setting by providing necessary support and services. Collaborating with general education staff to meet standards and benchmarks at students (age-appropriate) grade level. Providing evidence of supervision of instructional assistants working with students on assigned case load. Developing a timeline for each student placed in a more restricted environment for transitioning into the general education setting with support and services. Documenting meeting Lead Restrictive Environment per IEP on students schedule. Responsible for student diapering/toileting. Performing other duties as assigned.
Requirements:
Bachelors degree in Education, Special Education, or closely related field, and State of New Mexico Special Education Teaching License.
