Category Schools - Special Education Teacher Job Type Contract Step into an impactful Special Education teaching opportunity supporting K-12 students in a welcoming school environment near Wagon Mound, NM. This full-time contract role spans the academic year, offering educators the chance to make a lasting difference with a manageable caseload of approximately eight students and a focused, collaborative school community. This position features a family-friendly schedule with a four-day work week, running Monday through Thursday from 7:30 AM to 4:20 PM. You'll work in a single school building, allowing you to build meaningful connections with students and colleagues alike. The assignment begins with teachers reporting on August 4, in preparation for the school year's first day on August 10.

Qualifications and Desired Experience:

Valid certification in Special Education (or eligibility for certification in NM) Prior experience working with K-12 students with diverse learning needs preferred Strong classroom management and individualized instruction skills Able to develop IEPs and collaborate effectively with support staff and families Passion for promoting inclusion and fostering student growth

Key Responsibilities:

Provide specialized instruction and support for a small group of K-12 students with special needs Develop, implement, and monitor Individualized Education Plans (IEPs) Partner with general educators and support personnel to ensure student success Track and report student progress toward their educational goals Maintain accurate documentation and communicate regularly with families
