Qualifications:

Bachelors Degree (B.A.) is required Valid state certification as a Teacher of the Visually Impaired Prior experience working with visually impaired students, especially in a 1:1 or pediatric environment, is highly preferred Strong communication and collaboration skills with students, families, and school staff Compassionate, resourceful, and committed to fostering student independence and growth

Responsibilities:

Provide direct, individualized instruction to a visually impaired student, supporting their educational and developmental needs Adapt curriculum materials to meet the students access requirements, ensuring equitable participation in classroom activities Use specialized tools and techniques, including braille, assistive technology, and orientation-mobility strategies, as appropriate Collaborate with educators, support staff, and families to develop and implement effective Individualized Education Programs (IEPs) Monitor, document, and communicate student progress toward goals and make adjustments as needed Advocate for an inclusive, supportive school environment tailored to the students abilities and aspirations
