Key Qualifications:
Current certification as a Teacher of the Deaf/Hard of Hearing (TDHH) or eligibility to obtain Proven experience teaching students who are deaf or hard of hearing preferred Strong understanding of educational accommodations for diverse learning needs Excellent communication abilities, both oral and written Ability to collaborate effectively with fellow educators, support staff, and families Commitment to fostering an inclusive, empowering classroom environment
Primary Responsibilities:
Provide specialized instruction tailored to individual learning plans for students with hearing loss Utilize a variety of communication methods, including American Sign Language (ASL), cued speech, and assistive technology Adapt curriculum to address individualized educational goals Assess student progress and maintain accurate records in compliance with state and federal guidelines Serve as a resource for staff and families on best practices and strategies in deaf education Participate in IEP meetings and collaborate in multidisciplinary staff discussions Experience the rewards of making a difference every day while enjoying a consistent schedule and the satisfaction of supporting students as they grow and thrive.
