9642954-14903 Job Description Step into a meaningful contract opportunity supporting high school students as a Special Education Teacher in the Bath/Hornell, NY area. This position focuses on providing tailored instruction and support to 11th and 12th-grade students within an Emotional Disabilities (ED) classroom setting. The assignment runs from September 8, 2026, through early December 2026, totaling up to 12 weeks of dedicated service.
Key Qualifications:
Valid New York State Teaching License with a high school endorsement. Required certifications for teaching in an Emotional Disabilities classroom. Experience as a Special Education Teacher, preferably at the high school level. Ability to serve as either a lead teacher or a teachers assistant/long-term substitute. Strong communication, adaptability, and collaborative skills.
Primary Responsibilities:
Deliver effective, individualized instruction to high school students in a self-contained ED classroom. Develop and implement lesson plans in accordance with IEPs and educational standards. Provide classroom management, structure, and positive behavioral support. Work collaboratively with staff, administration, and student support teams to ensure holistic student development. Document student progress and maintain accurate records in adherence to school policies. Engage constructively with families and caregivers regarding student growth and needs. This is a full-time, onsite role at 32.5 hours per week, offering a fulfilling opportunity to make a significant impact over a school term.
