Job Description

Category Schools - Special Education Teacher Job Type Contract Embark on a rewarding contract assignment supporting students' growth and development as a Special Education Teacher in a well-established educational environment. This in-person role begins in September and focuses on serving 11th-12th grade students with Emotional Disabilities over a 6-8 week period. With a 35-hour work week, you'll work closely with a caring team to create an inclusive and productive classroom setting.
Key Qualifications:
Active New York State Special Education Teaching license with all required certifications and endorsements Demonstrated experience working with high school students, particularly those with Emotional Disabilities Strong classroom management and individualized instruction skills Collaborative mindset to work effectively with fellow educators, staff, and families Commitment to fostering a supportive and structured environment for all learners
Primary Responsibilities:
Deliver engaging and differentiated instruction to high school students in accordance with Individualized Education Plans (IEPs) Maintain detailed records of student progress and collaborate on regular evaluations and team meetings Adapt teaching approaches and materials to meet students' unique learning and emotional needs Foster positive relationships with students, encouraging academic and personal growth Communicate regularly with family members and support staff to ensure consistency and comprehensive care This opportunity offers you the chance to make a significant impact throughout the contract.
