What they do

A Special Education Teacher teaches students who have disabilities, and adapts teaching methods to meet the needs of students. Assesses students and helps to develop individualized education plans that specify the services and accommodations needed for each student. Works in a classroom that includes only students with IEPs, or works with students and teachers in regular classes. For students with severe disabilities, may focus on developing skills for independent living. Works as part of a team that includes therapists, school counselors or social workers.

Job Description

Do you have the Teacher's Certificate for Students with Disabilities Birth to Grade 2? This position is for you! We are seeking a qualified Early Intervention ABA Teachers to work with children with special needs, specifically those with developmental disabilities and autism in Inwood, NY. Super flexible position! Cases assigned according to your preferences and schedule!
Required:
  • Masters in special education (MSED)
  • Teacher's certification for students with disabilities Birth
  • Grade 2

Qualifications:
  • State certification in Special Education
  • Experience working with children with special needs, specifically those with developmental disabilities and autism
