Temporary Simply Education are currently working with a primary school in Rochester who are looking for an experienced and confident Year 6 Teacher to provide short-term paternity cover. This is an ideal opportunity for a teacher with recent KS2 experience , particularly someone who has taught Year 6, and who can quickly settle into an established class and provide continuity of learning during the teacher's absence. The Role The successful teacher will: Take full responsibility for a Year 6 class during the teacher's absence Deliver engaging and effective lessons across the KS2 curriculum Follow existing planning and ensure continuity of learning Manage behaviour confidently and maintain a positive classroom environment Assess and support pupils throughout the placement Work effectively with existing support staff Ensure the class continues to run smoothly during the two-week period The Ideal Candidate We are looking for someone who has: QTS and relevant teaching experience Recent experience teaching within KS2 Ideally, previous Year 6 teaching experience Strong classroom and behaviour management skills The confidence to quickly establish positive relationships with pupils The ability to follow existing planning and maintain consistency A calm, reliable and professional approach This role would suit an experienced primary teacher who is available for a short-term assignment and is confident stepping into an established Year 6 class with minimal disruption.
