A Special Education Teacher teaches students who have disabilities, and adapts teaching methods to meet the needs of students. Assesses students and helps to develop individualized education plans that specify the services and accommodations needed for each student. Works in a classroom that includes only students with IEPs, or works with students and teachers in regular classes. For students with severe disabilities, may focus on developing skills for independent living. Works as part of a team that includes therapists, school counselors or social workers.

£120-£170 per day, depending on experience and responsibilities
Start Date:
September 2026 Simply Education are looking for enthusiastic and adaptable Supply Teachers to support primary schools across Rochester and the surrounding areas from September. This is a great opportunity for teachers who enjoy the variety of supply work and are happy working across different primary year groups and school settings. You will need to be flexible, reliable and comfortable travelling to different schools when required.
The Role:
Providing high-quality teaching across EYFS, KS1 and KS2 Covering classes and following existing lesson plans where provided Managing classroom behaviour confidently and effectively Supporting pupils with a range of SEN needs Adapting your teaching to suit different year groups and school environments Building positive relationships with pupils and school staff Being flexible with school locations and willing to travel across the surrounding area
The Ideal Candidate:
Holds QTS or relevant teaching qualifications Has experience teaching across primary year groups Is confident and happy working with SEN children Has strong classroom and behaviour management skills Is flexible and willing to work in different schools Has a reliable and adaptable approach to work Holds, or is willing to obtain, an Enhanced DBS Is looking for regular supply work with the flexibility to choose their availability Why work with Simply Education?
