A Special Education Teacher teaches students who have disabilities, and adapts teaching methods to meet the needs of students. Assesses students and helps to develop individualized education plans that specify the services and accommodations needed for each student. Works in a classroom that includes only students with IEPs, or works with students and teachers in regular classes. For students with severe disabilities, may focus on developing skills for independent living. Works as part of a team that includes therapists, school counselors or social workers.

hours Supportive and responsive administrative team Paperless documentation and ongoing support Responsibilities Provide specialized instruction and support to students with disabilities in a school-based setting Implement IEP goals and collaborate with classroom staff and related service providers Differentiate instruction to meet individual student needs Monitor student progress and maintain required documentation Foster a positive, engaging, and supportive learning environment Communicate effectively with school staff, families, and district personnel Requirements Active New York State Students with Disabilities (All Grades OR 7-12) certification required Experience working with school-aged students preferred Daytime Availability preferred Reliable transportation to Seaford Fingerprinting and credential clearance required Preferred Qualifications Previous school-based teaching experience Strong collaboration and communication skills Ability to manage documentation and IEP-related responsibilities If you're looking for a rewarding opportunity to make a meaningful impact in a school community, with the flexibility to build a larger caseload through additional placements if desired, we'd love to hear from you!Learn more about us:
