A Special Education Teacher teaches students who have disabilities, and adapts teaching methods to meet the needs of students. Assesses students and helps to develop individualized education plans that specify the services and accommodations needed for each student. Works in a classroom that includes only students with IEPs, or works with students and teachers in regular classes. For students with severe disabilities, may focus on developing skills for independent living. Works as part of a team that includes therapists, school counselors or social workers.

THIS JOB IS IDEAL FOR COLLEGE OR HIGH SCHOOL STUDENTS!
Responsibilities:
- Cover breaks for teachers
- Collaborate with lead teachers and other teaching assistants to ensure smooth daily operations of the classroom
- Monitor and supervise children during activities, ensuring their safety at all times
- Play with and read to children
- Help serve meals and supervise children eating
- Clean as needed
- Assist with daily routines such as mealtime, nap time, diaper changes, and toileting
- Help clean and close the classroom you are assigned to
REQUIREMENTS
- Minimum 16 years of age
- Reliable transportation to work each day
- Ability to show up on time and consistently
- Be able to sit on the floor to play with children
- Be able to lift children up to 40 pounds
- Strong communication skills and the ability to work effectively as part of a team are essential
- You MUST be able to put your cell phone away while working to stay in compliance with regulations
PREFERRED
- High School Diploma or one year childcare experience
Experience:
- Previous experience working in a daycare or preschool setting is preferred
- Familiarity with behavior management techniques and strategies is a plus
- No cell phone use is allowed while in the classroom.
