Job Description

Make a meaningful impact supporting students' growth as an experienced Special Education Teacher. This contract opportunity offers the chance to teach a self-contained, complex needs class of secondary students (6:1:2 ratio) covering all core content areas. The role ensures a supportive learning environment, fostering both academic and social development for each student.
Key Qualifications:
Current certification and credentials in Special Education Experience working with students with complex needs at the secondary level Familiarity with differentiated instruction and individualized education plans (IEPs) Collaborative, team-driven mindset with strong communication skills Ability to adapt quickly and effectively within a dynamic school setting
Primary Responsibilities:
Teach all core subjects to a 6:1:2 self-contained classroom of secondary students Design and implement individualized instruction based on IEP goals Collaborate with ancillary staff, related service providers, and families Foster a positive, inclusive classroom culture that supports diverse learning styles Monitor and document students progress, adjusting strategies for optimal engagement and achievement Maintain compliance with all district and state policies regarding special education
