Qualifications:
Bachelor's Degree (B.A.) required Valid state certification as a Teacher of the Visually Impaired Experience supporting pediatric students in 1:1 or small group instructional settings preferred Ability to create and implement individualized instructional plans Strong communication skills with students, families, and interdisciplinary teams Adaptable, compassionate, and passionate about inclusive education
Key Responsibilities:
Provide direct, individualized instruction to a visually impaired student, adapting materials and teaching methods as needed Collaborate with classroom teachers, therapists, and support staff to ensure student engagement and academic growth Modify curriculum and resources to accommodate a broad spectrum of visual needs Track and document student progress, adjusting strategies to optimize learning outcomes Advocate for student needs within the school community Create a safe, supportive environment that fosters autonomy, confidence, and academic achievement This unique, contract role offers much more than classroom experience.
