Category Schools - Special Education Teacher Job Type Contract Step into a meaningful contract position supporting students as a Special Education Teacher at a middle/high school level. This opportunity offers a rewarding teaching experience within an in-person classroom environment, beginning in September and focusing on grades 11-12. Your expertise will help foster a nurturing and effective learning atmosphere over a 6-8 week assignment.

Desired Qualifications:

Active New York State Special Education Teaching license, including all required endorsements and certifications Previous experience in special education or working with students with Emotional Disabilities (ED) preferred Ability to adapt instruction and classroom management strategies to meet diverse student needs Strong communication and teamwork skills, collaborating effectively with colleagues, students, and families Dedication to creating a supportive, equitable classroom environment

Responsibilities:

Plan and deliver specialized instruction for students in grades 11-12 with emotional disabilities Develop and implement Individualized Education Programs (IEPs) ensuring goals align with each student's needs Monitor progress, maintain detailed records, and regularly communicate updates to team members and families Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team to address behavioral, academic, and social-emotional needs Create an inclusive and positive classroom climate supporting the academic and personal growth of all learners

Assignment Overview:
