Job Description

Make a positive impact by bringing your expertise as a Special Education Teacher to a dynamic environment serving secondary students with complex needs. This contract position offers the opportunity to support a self-contained 6:1:2 classroom, where your passion for inclusive education and dedication to student growth will truly make a difference. The assignment remains active until the district completes its internal hiring process.
Key Responsibilities:
Deliver comprehensive instruction in all core content areas to students in a 6:1:2 self-contained special education classroom Develop and implement individualized education programs (IEPs) tailored to each student's academic and developmental needs Collaborate closely with support staff, related service providers, and families to foster student progress Utilize evidence-based instructional and behavioral strategies to support students with complex needs Maintain accurate records, progress reports, and required documentation in compliance with school and district standards Create a safe, supportive, and engaging classroom environment that promotes learning and positive social interaction
Desired Qualifications:
Valid certification in Special Education (or ability to obtain before start date) Experience teaching students with diverse and complex learning needs at the secondary level Strong knowledge of IEP development and implementation Excellent classroom management skills and ability to build rapport with students and staff Effective communicator, collaborative approach, and a flexible mindset
Schedule:
