This contract opportunity focuses on supporting young learners with hearing challenges, providing vital educational services for approximately 180 minutes per month.

Qualifications:

Valid certification or licensure as a Teacher of the Deaf/Hard of Hearing. Experience teaching or working with children in grades K-4. Strong grasp of best practices in deaf education and auditory/oral or total communication approaches. Ability to collaborate effectively with general education teachers, support staff, and families. Excellent communication and organizational skills.

Key Responsibilities:

Deliver direct instruction and support for students with hearing loss, adapting materials and methods as needed. Monitor and document student progress, adjusting strategies to maximize learning outcomes. Educate and collaborate with classroom teachers regarding accommodation needs and inclusive classroom practices. Consult with families, ensuring they are informed and involved in supporting each childs development. Maintain accurate records, including IEP documentation and progress notes, in compliance with requirements. Serve as an advocate for students, promoting access and equal participation in all classroom activities.
