A Special Education Teacher teaches students who have disabilities, and adapts teaching methods to meet the needs of students. Assesses students and helps to develop individualized education plans that specify the services and accommodations needed for each student. Works in a classroom that includes only students with IEPs, or works with students and teachers in regular classes. For students with severe disabilities, may focus on developing skills for independent living. Works as part of a team that includes therapists, school counselors or social workers.

Welcome to Education Alternatives! Ravenna We are looking for a Student Support Specialist to join our education team. Many of our current Specialists formerly worked in the retail, hospitality and the service industries, and have found the Specialist position more personally fulfilling, and the pay/benefits more competitive than their other jobs. No prior experience is required. Even if you never considered working with students, we are confident through our training and mentoring programs you can succeed in this position. EA is a leading provider of special education services in Northeast Ohio. EA focuses on providing behavioral and education programming for students with special learning and emotional needs. EA has 8 locations serving over 400 special education students. In this position, you will be assigned to work with an individual student within a classroom, and assist the student with assignments, behavior management and emotional regulation.
