Category Schools - Special Education Teacher Job Type Contract Make a meaningful impact shaping the lives of young students in an engaging special education setting near Strongsville, OH. This full-time contract position offers the opportunity to support and inspire K-1 learners in an Autism (AU) or Multiple Disabilities (MD) classroom, Monday through Friday, from 8 am to 3:30 pm. Qualifications and Experience:
Valid special education teaching credentials Experience working in special education environments, particularly with Autism Spectrum Disorder and/or Multiple Disabilities Strong communication and collaboration skills Ability to adapt curriculum and teaching strategies to meet diverse needs Commitment to fostering an inclusive, nurturing learning atmosphere Enthusiasm for early childhood education and supporting students' individual growth
Responsibilities:
Deliver engaging, individualized instruction tailored to K-1 students in a self-contained Autism or MD classroom Collaborate with paraeducators, therapists, and related service providers Develop and implement IEPs, monitor progress, and document student growth Communicate effectively with families about student progress and school activities Support students with daily routines, social skills, and life skills development Adapt teaching materials and strategies to accommodate varying learning styles and abilities Take pride in helping little learners develop essential skills, build confidence, and reach their fullest potential in a nurturing atmosphere.
