What they do
A Special Education Teacher teaches students who have disabilities, and adapts teaching methods to meet the needs of students. Assesses students and helps to develop individualized education plans that specify the services and accommodations needed for each student. Works in a classroom that includes only students with IEPs, or works with students and teachers in regular classes. For students with severe disabilities, may focus on developing skills for independent living. Works as part of a team that includes therapists, school counselors or social workers.

Job Description
Qualification:
Must hold a current valid Ohio Teaching Certificate or License
Background knowledge of how to implement an IEP
Successful BCII and FBI background check
Duties:
Provide one on one or small group education services to students
Maintain effective communication with families and the home school
Prepare work for students
Assist students with academic work
Make accommodations and modifications for students work
Work with the Special Education Supervisor/Principal/teachers at the building to carry out services addressed in the IEP
Meet students in their home, library, mutually decided location, or virtually
Pick up and deliver students' work to their appropriate buildings
Maintain the child's safety at the predetermined location for instruction.
Never leave a child unsupervised, make arrangements with parents only, not students
Abide by all State and Federal Guidelines for all students
Abide by the rules, regulations, policies and procedures of the Warren City School District Board of Education
Performs any other relevant duties as may be assigned by the Executive Director of Special Education, Building Principal or his/her designee
Salary:
$31.87 per an hour Procedure for making
