9662623-97501 Job Description Make a difference in the lives of students by providing essential support as a Teacher of the Visually Impaired (TVI) for the 2026-2027 academic year. This contract opportunity, based near Medford, OR, runs from December 7, 2026, to June 11, 2027, and supports students across multiple counties, serving K-12 caseloads in both in-person and virtual (VOCO) formats. The weekly schedule averages 30-32 hours, offering a balance between meaningful work and life outside the classroom.
Qualifications:
Valid and active Oregon TVI Certification/Licensure required Experience supporting students with visual impairments in educational settings Ability to assess, develop, and implement individualized education plans for students with varying degrees of visual impairment Strong collaboration skills with teachers, staff, families, and interdisciplinary teams Comfortable with both in-person and virtual instruction Knowledge of adapted technology and resources for blind/visually impaired students (preferred) Willingness to travel within Jackson, Josephine, Douglas, Klamath, and Lake Counties as needed
Key Responsibilities:
Deliver direct services, instruction, and assessments for K-12 students who are blind or visually impaired Collaborate with general education teachers, specialists, and families to provide access to curriculum and maximize student success Develop and update individualized programs, documenting student progress and meeting IEP requirements Provide consultation and support regarding accommodations, technology, and instructional materials Participate in professional development and outreach to continually enhance expertise and impact You will work in a supportive environment where your unique skills make a vital difference.
