Job Description

Category Schools - Special Education Teacher Job Type Contract Embark on a rewarding opportunity as a Special Education Teacher in a dynamic school setting near Monmouth, Oregon. This contract position is set to begin as soon as possible and continues through June 5, 2026, providing valuable, consistent support to students with diverse needs. All positions are full-time (37.5 hours per week) and require onsite presence. Multiple openings are available across various classrooms: Two Elementary Developmental classes (15 students each; supported by 6 assistants; needs include behavioral, ASD, and communication support) One Elementary Behavior class (Grades 3-5; 16 students; 5 assistants) One Middle School Resource room (40 students, support shared by 2 assistants) One Elementary Resource, split between two sites (a total of 35 students; each building has an assistant) One Middle School Behavior class (15 students; 5 assistants)
Qualifications:
Active Special Education teaching certification or license in Oregon Previous experience in special education settings is highly valued Ability to collaborate with instructional assistants and multidisciplinary teams Strong classroom management and communication skills Must be able to provide contact information for the most recent supervisor reference as part of the consideration process Your role will include developing and implementing individualized education programs, supporting student growth, and partnering with families and colleagues to ensure success for all learners.
