Step into a rewarding full-time role supporting K-12 students as a Special Education Teacher in a lively, inclusive school environment near Monmouth, OR. This contract position is available onsite starting September 9, 2026, and lasting through June 26, 2027. With four openings across several specialized programs, you'll have the opportunity to select a caseload that aligns with your area of expertise and passion, from life skills and developmental classes to intensive behavioral support.
Opportunities include:
Middle school life skills program: Serve 12 students alongside 4 instructional assistants, helping learners with both behavioral and academic needs. Elementary K-2 developmental classroom: Guide 16 students (many non-verbal) in building foundational skills and functional routines, supported by 5 instructional assistants. Elementary behavior program (two roles available): Work with 13 students, grades 3-5, focusing on social-emotional growth with the help of 4 instructional assistants, within a highly collaborative Behavioral Health Center.
Key qualifications:
Valid Special Education teaching credential. Experience in K-12 special education settings, preferably with diverse or intensive behavioral caseloads. Dedication to individualized instruction, positive behavior support, and inclusive practices. Excellent communication and collaboration skills. Flexibility to adapt to different classroom environments and student needs. Ability to provide the names, titles, and email addresses of your three most recent supervisor referencesthis is a strict requirement and essential for consideration.
Responsibilities:
Develop and implement IEPs tailored to each students abilities. Foster a safe, supportive, and engaging classroom environment. Lead and collaborate with instructional assistants.
