Job Description

Make a meaningful impact as a Special Education Teacher, supporting middle school students in an autistic support setting. This contract opportunity runs from now through June 10, 2027, offering a stable, long-term position. Your guidance and expertise will foster a nurturing and effective learning environment for students who thrive with tailored instruction and positive encouragement.
Key Qualifications:
Active Pennsylvania Teaching Certificate with Special Education endorsement for middle school students Demonstrated experience working with students on the autism spectrum, particularly at the middle school level Strong communication skills for collaborating with paraprofessionals, related service providers, and families Ability to develop and implement individualized education plans (IEPs) and adapt instruction based on students' unique needs Compassion, patience, and skill in de-escalation and behavior management
Your Responsibilities:
Create and deliver instruction for middle school students in an autistic support program Maintain a structured classroom environment that encourages growth, independence, and academic achievement Collaborate with a team to develop and execute IEP goals Track student progress and modify teaching strategies accordingly Engage in regular communication with families and related service providers Support and mentor paraprofessionals assigned to your classroom Enjoy a set schedule: 7:15am - 2:45pm, totaling 35 hours per week with a 30-minute unpaid lunch.
