Category Schools - Special Education Teacher Job Type Contract Bring your expertise and passion for making a difference to a rewarding contract opportunity in a middle school setting focused on Autistic support. This role offers the chance to collaborate with a dedicated staff, impact the lives of students, and help foster an inclusive and supportive learning environment. The position is set to begin as soon as possible and will continue through June 10, 2027.
Key Qualifications:
Valid Pennsylvania Teaching Certificate with appropriate Special Education endorsement for middle school grades Proven experience or strong interest in supporting students on the autism spectrum Ability to develop, implement, and adapt instructional strategies to diverse learning needs Strong communication and collaboration skills with students, families, and multidisciplinary teams Commitment to upholding best practices in individualized education and behavioral supports
Core Responsibilities:
Deliver tailored instruction and support to middle school students in an Autistic support program Design and implement Individualized Education Programs (IEPs) in accordance with district and state guidelines Monitor and document student progress, adjusting teaching methods to meet evolving needs Collaborate with colleagues, specialists, and parents to ensure holistic student development Maintain a positive, structured, and nurturing classroom environment Participate in ongoing professional development and contribute to the school community This contract position offers a steady full-time schedule from 7:15 am to 2:45 pm, totaling 35 hours per week with a 30-minute unpaid lunch.
