Job Description

Category Schools - Special Education Teacher Job Type Contract Unlock a rewarding contract opportunity supporting students as a Special Education Teacher in the Bethlehem, PA area. This position serves as an itinerant resource across either Carbon or Lehigh counties, filling vital needs in classrooms and supporting students' growth throughout the school year. You'll work closely within a collaborative educational environment, covering absences and providing consistent instruction and support. The schedule follows the standard school calendar, with 35 hours per week expected from August 2026 through June 2027.
Qualifications and Desired Experience:
Active Pennsylvania teaching license and PDE certification (must provide proof through TIMS) Demonstrated experience working with students in special education settings Familiarity with IEP development, participation, and implementation Commitment to in-person instruction only Adaptability to work at various sites and step into a range of special education classroom environments as needed
Key Responsibilities:
Deliver engaging and effective instruction to students with special educational needs across designated geographic assignments Flexibly substitute at different locations, ensuring seamless academic support during staff absences or leaves Collaborate with IEP teams, contribute to meetings, and track progress toward educational goals Maintain detailed documentation and provide feedback to staff and administration Adapt quickly to varied classroom cultures and student needs across diverse school sites
