Category Schools - Special Education Teacher Job Type Contract Make a direct impact by supporting young learners as a Special Education Teacher on a contract basis. In this dynamic role, you'll work closely with students ages 7 to 13, delivering tailored reading instruction and expertly crafting Individualized Education Programs (IEPs) for a caseload of 12 students. Your guidance can help students gain the skills and confidence they need to thrive academically.
Qualifications & Desired Experience:
Valid teaching certification in Special Education Proven experience working with elementary or middle school students Strong understanding of IEP development and implementation Ability to differentiate instruction and create engaging, accessible lesson plans Excellent communication skills to collaborate with staff and families Commitment to fostering an inclusive, supportive learning environment
Duties & Responsibilities:
Deliver targeted reading instruction to individual students and small groups Develop, write, and update IEPs for each student, ensuring compliance with state and federal guidelines Monitor and document student progress, adapting strategies as needed Collaborate with general education teachers, paraprofessionals, and families to coordinate student supports Participate in IEP meetings and communicate goals and progress to parents and team members Maintain accurate records and foster a caring, structured classroom environment This position enables you to make a meaningful difference for students at a pivotal stage in their educational journey.
